The science fiction classic titled, "Skylark of Space", was his first novel of 4 in the series. It was started in 1915 with the help of a neighbor, Mrs. Lee Hawkins Garby. She is named a co-author in the first edition. "Skylark of Space" first appeared in print in Amazing Stories magazine in 1928.

THIS IS THE COPY with all the original story text as printings after 1958 were from the revised, shortened manuscript. There were only 1000 copies of the 1st Edition, and only 1000 of the 2nd Edition printed.

Considered 1st in the classic Lensman series. Nobody agrees with me, but I really liked the story, "Spacehounds of the IPC", and personally consider it a prehistory of the Lensman universe.
