Victor and his offspring are as fictional as their stories. The first series was written mostly by Howard R. Garis. He wrote 35 of the 38 book series that started with "Tom Swift and His Motor-Cycle". The Tom Swift Jr. series was started by Harriet S. Adams. It has 33 titles. The third series started in 1981 stopped at number 11. A fourth series started in 1991 with "Tom Swift #1".--Lee Skidmore
